Castable LCD Resin - Castable Wax

Castable Wax Resin is a highly accurate wax-based casting resin for 3D printing direct investment casting parts for dental, jewelry and industrial applications.

Weight
500 gram
1 colour
  • Blue
Key features & details

Our Castable Wax Resin is a highly accurate blue wax-based casting resin. It is designed to be used for direct investment casting parts for dental, jewellery and industrial applications. The wax component in this 3D printing resin offers a clean ash-free burnout. Furthermore it has an extremely low expansion factor. This ensures the wax filler to melt and shrink away from the mould without expanding, and by that protecting fragile investment moulds.

This wax-based castable 3D printing resin has an exceptionally low shrinkage factor. You’re also able to print parts with smooth surfaces and incredibly fine detail. The Castable LCD Resin – Castable Wax has been tested extensively and validated by both dental technicians and jewellers.

Key Features:

  • Ash-free burnout
  • Low expansion factor
  • High dimensional accuracy with low shrinkage factor
  • Smooth services with incredibly fine detail
  • Almost odorless processing
  • Compatible with all open-source SLA, DLP, and LCD 3D printers in the range of 385 – 405nm

Applications:

  • Dental molds
  • Jewelry molds
  • Industrial molds

Preparation(s) before starting to print

  • Make sure that the resin is at room temperature (22°C +/- 1°C) before use
  • The wax component in the resin makes the resin more viscous at lower temperatures.
  • Below 16°C the resin solidifies too much and gets too viscous for good 3D printing results
  • Shake the bottle for at least 2 minutes before each use.
  • After shaking the bottle, leave the resin to rest for 10 minutes to let air bubbles get out of the resin
  • The resin can be poured back from the vat into the bottle once your print is finished
  • Always use protective measurements like safety glasses and nitrile gloves when handling resins.

Engineering LCD Resin - Flex 82A

Engineering LCD Resin - Flex 82A

Engineering LCD Resin - Flex 82A is a rubber-like resin that combines semi-flexibility with strength. With a shore hardness rangin from 82A to 87A, it can endure frequent exposure to bending, flexing and compression.

Weight
500 gram

Key features & details

Our Engineering LCD Resin – Flex 82A is a soft-touch 3D printing resin with rubber-like properties. This engineering resin has material properties comparable to TPU with a shore hardness ranging from 82A to 87A. The combination of semi-flexibility with strength makes this resin a versatile material for various applications. Parts 3D printed with this resin can be repeatedly compressed, bended and flexed, without losing its properties.

Important key features

  • 3D printing resin with rubber-like material properties.
  • Good resilience to bending, flexing, and compression.
  • Excellent material specifications with respect to damping and shock absorption.
  • Good compatibility with all SLA, DLP and LCD / MSLA 3D printers in the range of 385 – 420nm.

Suitable applications

  • Perfectly fit for manufacturing seals and gaskets.
  • Suitable for creating wearables and soft-touch applications.
  • Perfect for producing mechanical and operational replacement parts.
  • Excellent material for making handles and grips.
  • Perfect for short-run manufacturing

Physical properties after post curing

Please note that the above-displayed values can vary with individual machine processing, post-curing parts, geometry, print orientation, print settings, and temperature.

Specimens are printed on a Phrozon Sonic Mini 4K at 23°C and 50% humidity with 0,05mm layer height and 5 seconds exposure time per layer.

Specimens have been post-cured for 30 minutes with 200W and 405nm UV LED conditioned for 72 hours at 23°C and 50% humidity.

Variable shore harness

The shore hardness of our Engineering LCD Resin – Flex 82A can vary because of the hydrophilic properties, low tg and difunctional resin chemistry. This means that the shore hardness of Engineering LCD Resin – Flex 82A can vary if any of the following values deviate from the standardized specifications.

  • Conditioning Time: 72h at 50%.
  • Conditioning Temperature: 23°C
  • Measurement Humidity: 50%
  • Measurement Temperature: 23°C

Exposure to the elements for a couple of days can significantly change the shore hardness by either raising or lowering the humidity level and temperature. Therefore, the shore hardness will very likely increase at cold temperatures and low humidity and decrease at high temperatures and high humidity.

Preparation(s) before starting to print

  • Shake the bottle for at least 2 minutes before each use.
  • After shaking the bottle, leave the resin to rest for 10 minutes to let air bubbles get out of the resin
    • The resin can be poured back from the vat into the bottle once your print is finished

Key features & details

Our Spectrum Color Pigments are fine-tuned for optimal coloring performance with FormFutura Spectrum LCD Color Mix resins. Spectrum Color pigments come in an impressive spectrum of 29 RAL colors. The process for making the specified RAL colors is very easy.

Fine-tuning your colors by applying Spectrum Color Pigments to Spectrum Color Mix resin

  1. For optimal performance it is best to shake the vial with Spectrum Color Pigment thoroughly for approximately 15 seconds.
  2. Pour Spectrum Color Pigment into the bottle of Spectrum Color Mix resin and make sure that the resin bottle is closed properly.
  3. It is best to shake the bottle thoroughly for approximately 1 minute to ensure that the Spectrum Color Mix resin is mixed optimally with the Spectrum Color Pigment.
  4. For an optimal 3D printing experience it is best to let the mixture rest for several minutes to make sure that there aren’t any air bubbles anymore.
  5. You have now created a high-end and easy to print resin in the respective RAL color by close approximation.
  6. For re-usage it is best to shake the colored Spectrum LCD Color Mix resin thoroughly every time before usage.

You can even fine-tune your own colors by mixing pigments into a new color. All Spectrum Color Pigments can be combined to achieve your desired color. The best 3D printing results are obtained by mixing 25gr of Spectrum Color Pigment to 1Kg of Spectrum Color Mix resin. When fine-tuning your own colors it is recommended not apply more than 25gr of (combined) Spectrum Color Pigments.
